Update of 3rd Editorial Board Members of APJTB

The 3rd Editorial Board Members of Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine have been updated. The editorial board consists of 96 international famous medical experts from 61 countries and regions. The Elsevier home page of APJTB will be updated some time later.

Brief introduction on the Editors-in-Chief is as below.

Professor Jeffrey M. Bethony (Washington DC, USA, America), a George Washington University microbiologist, leads the laboratory team in Brazil working on the hookworm trials. Dr. Bethony is an NIH Fogarty Fellow working at Fiocruz in Belo Horizonte. He is a visiting scientist developing ELISA methodologies to measure antibody responses in vaccinated animals.

Professor Santiago Mas-Coma (Valencia, Spain, Europe) is the Vice-President of International Federation for Tropical Medicine, Chairman of the Parasitology Department, University of Valencia, Spain, President of the European Federation of Parasitologists, President of the Spanish Society of Parasitology, and Member at Large of the Board of the International Federation of Tropical Medicine. He is also an Expert Member of the World Health Organization in Human Parasitology.

Dr. Malcolm K. Jones (Queensland, Australia), a professor in the School of Veterinary Sciences, The University of Queensland, his research interest lies in the biology and control of helminth parasites of humans including investigations of shistosomiasis, food-borne trematodiases and echinococcosis. Professor Jones was the President and Fellow of the Australian Society for Parasitology.

Professor Vanessa Steenkamp (Pretoria, South Africa, Africa) obtained her PhD in Clinical Chemistry (Toxicology of traditional herbal remedies). Presently she heads the Phytomedicine Unit, Department of Pharmacology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. She is Past-President of the South African Association of Clinical Biochemistry, Vice-President of the Toxicology Society of South Africa and Secretary-General of the South African Association of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology. Internationally she serves as vice-chair of the IATDMCT Clinical Toxicology committee and participates in the Standards of Laboratory Practice committee. She is a member of the nominating committee of the International Union of Toxicology and serves on the Executive Committee of the IFCC. She strives to better health care provision and with her dedication to the African Federation of Clinical Chemistry, regional federation of the IFCC, of which she is currently President, was inaugurated in 2009.

Dr. Nazni Bte Hj. Wasi Ahmad (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Asia) is now a Senior Research Officer of Medical Entomology Unit, Institute For Medical Research, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
